Bane is a good hero for both team fights and unexpected single-target attacks. The Nightmare ability allows him to temporarily put the enemy to sleep or help an ally dodge an attack. In the laning stage, Bane can be quite comfortable with his Brain Sap ability, which allows him to effectively trade blows with his opponent. Purchasing Aghanim's Shard makes this ability especially efficient against Illusion heroes. Enfeeble makes it possible to weaken enemies during the fight.
