Small abrasions are already present in different parts of the blade in Factory New condition. At levels of wear close to the maximum, small abrasions appear on the tip of the knife.

Bowie Knife | Fade with a maximum amount of purple on the tip of the blade (“100% Fade” or “Full Fade”) is considered to be the most valuable pattern variation. The less valuable pattern variations where the amount of purple decreases are titled “99% Fade” (or “fake Full Fade”) and “98% Fade”.
