Nomad Knife | Rust Coat was added to the game on March 31, 2025, in the Spring Forward update and became one of the rare special items in the Fever Case. The skin was created by Valve. The Nomad Knife appeared in the game in 2019 as part of Operation Shattered Web and first received Chroma finishes in the Fever Case.
The blade is covered with an uneven layer of rust. The handle remains unpainted.
The skin's Float Value ranges from 0.40 to 1.00, which makes Nomad Knife | Rust Coat available only in Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred conditions. At low Float Values, the rust is less pronounced and covers a smaller area of the blade surface. As the Float Value grows, the area covered by rust increases. At values close to the maximum, the blade becomes almost completely covered with rust and takes on a pronounced orange-brown shade.
The pattern index affects the placement of the rust texture on the blade surface. There are no special or rare pattern variations.
