AWP | Exothermic was added to the game on January 21, 2026, as part of The Harlequin Collection, released with the Fourth Season update. The skin was created by Valve.
Most of the rifle's body is covered with an abstract pattern in various shades of red. The design resembles the texture of a gemstone and consists of numerous straight and angular lines forming separate facets. It covers the receiver, stock, scope, and several other parts of the body. The barrel and some smaller parts of the weapon remain unpainted. The placement of the pattern elements depends on the pattern index.
The skin's Float Value ranges from 0.00 to 0.70, which makes AWP | Exothermic available in all exterior conditions. Minor abrasions and scratches are already present on the unpainted parts of the rifle in Factory New condition. New abrasions appear on the painted areas in Minimal Wear condition and become clearly noticeable at approximately 0.25. As the Float Value rises, abrasions increase in number and size. At the highest wear levels, the painted parts of the rifle are covered with numerous signs of wear, but the main design remains clearly visible.
The pattern index affects the skin's appearance. The design features two distinctive centers with straight lines extending outward from them. One of these centers is surrounded by a diamond-shaped element. The community especially highlights variants where this element appears on clearly visible parts of the rifle. These include patterns #854, #984, #106, #932, #79, #730, and #272. Patterns #136 and #820 feature it on the scope.
The quality of AWP | Exothermic is Restricted. The skin is not available in a StatTrak version. Its design visually resembles FAMAS | Byproduct from the same collection. Both skins use the same dynamic pattern, but in different color schemes. At low wear levels, AWP | Exothermic may appeal to players who collect red-themed loadouts.
