AWP | Chrome Cannon was added to the game on February 6, 2024, as part of The Kilowatt Collection, released with the A Call to Arms update. The skin was created by Strenson. Another skin by the creator, M4A4 | Spider Lily, was previously added to the game.
Most of the rifle's body is decorated with a multicolored abstract pattern of wide curved stripes. The finish has a mirror-like shine, creating bright highlights and shifting colors depending on the lighting and viewing angle. The scope is finished in shades of burgundy and features a fine diagonal texture resembling carbon fiber. A small stylized metallic logo is located on the rear part of the scope. The barrel, magazine, and some other parts of the weapon are finished in black. The magazine is decorated with small light-colored graphic elements. The rear part of the stock features a gray abstract pattern.
The skin's Float Value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00, which makes AWP | Chrome Cannon available in all exterior conditions. As the Float Value rises, minor abrasions appear on various parts of the body but remain barely noticeable even at high wear levels. At the same time, the skin's color scheme gradually takes on warmer tones. At the highest wear levels, rich orange and copper tones begin to dominate the design, while the mirror-like shine becomes less pronounced.
The pattern index does not affect the skin's appearance.
The quality of AWP | Chrome Cannon is Covert. The skin is available in a StatTrak version. The skin was among the ten nominees for Skin of the Year at the 2024 HLTV Awards.
