M4A1-S | Fatal Glitch was added to the game on July 8, 2026, as part of The Spy Tech Collection, released with the Season 5, Armory, and More update. The skin was created by Valve.
Most of the rifle's body is coated with pearlescent paint in several shades of light green. The green areas change color depending on the lighting. Pale orange and gray sections are also used in the design. The overall pattern resembles digital camouflage. Red symbols resembling crosshairs appear on various parts of the rifle. The design is complemented by various technical markings. A stylized GLITCH inscription is located on a gray section of the stock.

The first minor abrasions appear on various parts of the rifle in Field-Tested condition and become clearly noticeable at approximately 0.23. As the Float Value rises, paint gradually wears away from the silencer, pistol grip, front section of the stock, and some parts of the receiver. At the highest wear levels, the paint on these areas is almost completely worn away. Only minor abrasions appear on the green parts of the body, so most of the pattern remains intact. The green color darkens and the pearlescent sheen becomes less pronounced.
The pattern index affects the placement of the design on the weapon's body. The community highlights several notable pattern variants. Pattern #99 is dominated by green, #386 features large orange areas, #879 resembles camouflage, and #788 has a dense design with many details.
