M4A4 | Dark Operative was added to the game on July 8, 2026, as part of The Spy Tech Collection, released with the Season 5, Armory, and More update. The skin was created by S.H.A.D.O.W. His previous accepted works include FAMAS | ZX Spectron and Sawed-Off | Analog Input.
The rifle's body is finished in matte black, while several details are dark gray. A round logo above the magazine resembles the emblem of a secret unit. Various parts of the weapon feature small white technical inscriptions and markings.
The skin's Float Value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00, which makes M4A4 | Dark Operative available in all exterior conditions. The first minor abrasions appear across the body in Minimal Wear condition and become clearly noticeable at approximately 0.15. As the Float Value rises, abrasions increase in number and size. At the highest wear levels, the black finish becomes noticeably lighter, while the barrel, part of the stock, and several small details develop a rusty-brown patina. The white technical inscriptions and markings remain partially visible.
The pattern index does not affect the skin's appearance.
The quality of M4A4 | Dark Operative is Mil-Spec Grade. The skin is not available in a StatTrak version.
